I participated in the HLB International Asia pacific Conference 2018 from June 14 to 17, 2018.
This corporation is one of the regional conferences of HLB International, which has been a member since February 2010 (with offices in 150 countries around the world, headquartered in London). The venue was Colombo, Sri Lanka, with more than 50 participants from 20 countries and territories, and was organized around the theme of Excellence through Unity.
Lecture titled “Overcoming Uncertainty for Sustainable Growth” by the Minister of Finance and Public Relations of the Western Sri Lankan Government Lecture entitled “Strengthen”, a panel discussion with the theme of “International Investment – Changing Challenges into Opportunities”, and the introduction of Colombo International Financial Center “Port City” .
There were also interesting lectures on cyber security in the digital society and the threat of insiders, and new trends in mobile communication in Asia. Especially on the theme of “Women in the Accounting Industry”, I was reminded of how to change the small number of women partners and female executives in the Meisei Group.
In addition, the current status and issues of HLB, status reports from each office, the latest information on U.S. tax, reports from the IT Committee and Audit Guarantee Committee, and other valuable information that should be communicated and shared within the office. There were many issues to be addressed.
Sri Lanka was delicious, and on the last day of the conference there was a tour of the ancient city of Kandy and the Elephant Orphanage, which was a great place to enjoy sightseeing.
It was the first time in 5 years to participate, and it was a reckless challenge for me who couldn’t speak English alone, but I was able to manage the status report in English.
I deeply thanked the members of HLB for their patient communication in my English, and renewed my commitment to improve quality, reform and expand business as a member firm.
